Guatemala: Semuc Champey

When a Guatemalan tells you that it takes 7:00 to arrive at your destination, add 2:00 more! Little advice by the way;) So after 9am of transport, here we are in Lanquin our second destination in Guatemala.

What can we find in Lanquin? Semuc Champey Nature Park with its natural psicines of course!

A pick up from the hostel picked us up and he still had 10 kilometers to go, which took 1 hour in view of the state of the road. It's Elena and her friend, who welcomed us and show us our beds in the dormitory. What a desappointment! In the photos, he showed four beds in a dormitory in a cabin. Surprise! We were in a 16 bed dorm with no equipment ie no jack to charge the phones and no small bedside lamp.

We expressed our dissatisfaction with the owner who was relatively stubborn and who always put forward the location of the hostel, that is to say, 5 minutes walk from Semuc Champey Park and next to River. I made him understand that I did not care about the place, I did not have what I expected from the hostel to know two beds in a dormitory of four beds. We finally reached an agreement, namely a reduction on the rates of our next transport.

The next day, we are on the way to the park to discover Semuc Champey. We went up to the watchtower to admire the view.
